Corporate Monotonousness

One step at a time,
Make sure you fall in line,
Original thought be a crime,
Got to work for that bottom line,

But what about the times when we let go,
When we can see all that’s on show,
And when we danced under the stars,
The joining together of Venus and mars,

Where out in the world yet hidden from sight,
Where the lines are paved in wrong and right,
What happened to all our plans and the like?
Why are we now content without being alive,

So why am I waiting,
Slowly suffocating,
In this drudge of soldiers,
Blindly following orders,

But what about the times when we let go,
When we can see all that’s on show,
And when we danced under the stars,
The joining together of Venus and mars,

It seems I’ve become lost from purpose,
Left abandoned on the road of service,
Shrinking away from my own conscious,
Becoming part of this corporate monotonousness,

So why am I waiting,
Slowly suffocating,
In this drudge of soldiers,
Blindly following orders,

But what about the times when we let go,
When we can see all that’s on show,
And when we danced under the stars,
The joining together of Venus and mars,
